The Second chapter of my unamed book.

I DO OWN THIS.

Chapter two.

"I hope you're not a serial killer." I said to Alan. "I assure you I am not." He smirked at me. "I am just your knight in shining armour."
"How modest."
"I try."
Nessa gave a small sigh in her sleep, Alan shifted her a bit in his arms. "Will she wake up?" He said a bit worried.
"No, you could hold her upside down in her sleep and she wouldn't wake up." He chuckled. "Good to know."
An inn appeared in view. "There it is." He said pointing.
Light shone through the windows, and I could hear noise coming out of the building. Alan gently shook Nessa in his arms. She raised her head.
"Where are we?" "We're going to an inn so you can sleep." Alan said to her as he gently put her on the ground.
I shook her. "Are you going to be okay?" I said. Nessa nodded. "I'll be fine."
Alan started briskly walking into the inn. "Come on!" He called to me. "It's getting cold." I pulled my jacket closer around me, he was right.
We all walked into the crowed room, trying not to bump into a drunken person. We sat down at the bar, and waited for someone to come serve us. An extremly pretty woman came over to us. "Would you like something?"
"Yeah, we'll have three bowls of ham soup." Alan said.
"Sure." She said. "Wait, that's okay isn't it?" Alan turned to us. "Neither of you are jewish or vegeteriens are you?"
"No, we're good." Said Nessa, the colour starting to come back to her face.
"Three soups then."
"Okay." She smiled at us, and went into the kitchen.
I looked around the room, trying not to stare at people.
"Hey Alan?" Nessa said. "Yeah?" he replied, whipping his head around immediatly.
"Do you know people here? Like, who to stay away from, and who to go to if your clothes are on fire?"
He nodded. "Yeah, I pretty much know all and see all. If you're looking for someone to give you a bucket of water when you're in flames, the innkeeper Moses and and his wife Hermione, they're pretty cool."
I looked over at the Hermione who was getting our food. She did look really nice. As did her husband who was serving people drinks, his coffee couloured face lighting up with laughter. "As for people you should stay away from, well-" Alan began, but I interrupeted him.
"Alan. Who's that guy?"
"Which one?"
"The one staring at us like we're the hobbits and he's Aragorn."
"The whaty-what-what-what?"
"Doesn't matter." I gestured with my head. "That one."
"Ohhh, Luke." Alan murmered. Me and Nessa looked at each other. "Who is he?" We said in unison.
"He's kinda the town loner, doesn't talk to many people, stays to himself." I turned slowly, trying to be subtle, (trying being the cruicial word) to look back at Luke. He had dark brown hair that was sort of in a David Tennant style, and striking dark brown eyes. He shifted his gaze to me and I hurriedly looked away.
"Why is he staring at us?" Nessa said, craning her neck to look at him. (At least I had pretended to be subtle about it.)
Alan shrugged. "He probably just can't keep his eyes off two such beautiful girls." Nessa giggled, returning his flirt. I rolled my eyes.
"Ah, the food's here!" Alan grinned, handing us our bowls. I snuck one last look at the mysterious stranger named Luke before I started to eat.
"So, we should probably go to sleep..." I began, stopping Nessa and Alan's never ending conversation. (Apparently we are all obsessed with animals, who knew?)
"Oh, yeah, it's getting late." Alan said. "I paid for rooms for both of you for tonight."
"So, are we going to see you again?" Nessa said. (Kind of sadly I noted.)
Alan looked suprised. "Of course! I'll see you here tommorow, I mean you might need me, 'cause you two look kind of..well..um..."
"What do we look like Alan?" I said, putting my hands on my hips, and looking mock offended.
"Well..um...lost?"
I laughed. Nessa smiled. "Yeah, we're sorta lost."
"So I'll see you tommorow?"
"Yes."
He grinned. "Just ask Hermione which room you're supposed to be in. and I'll see both of you tommorow."
Nessa smiled back. "'night."
"'Night."
"Bye Alan."
"See you Merry."
I turned to Nessa. "We-e-ll." She looked at me. "Well what?"
"Need I repeat that last scene?" I put on a high pitched flirty voice. "Goodnight Alan! I'll see yooouuu tommorow." I gave her a cheesy smile, batting my eyelids.
She gave me a look. "Shut up." (I could see that she was trying to hide a smile.)
I walked over to Hermione. "Excuse me, which room are we staying in?"
She looked at us. "You're the one who the handsome young man bought rooms for?"
"Yes."
"Just go up the stairs, the fourth door on the left."
"Thanks."
"Goodnight."
"Goodnight!"
Me and Nessa climbed up the stairs. We settled on to the two beds, (me bagsing the one by the window.) I snuggled into my bed.
"Merry?" Nessa whispered.
"Yes?"
She sighed. "Do you think we're going to be able to get back."
I paused before saying, "I don't know Ness."
I heard her shift. "Because staying here...it might not be too bad."
I smiled. "Might that be because of a very handsome blue-eyed boy?"
She sat up. "Marian Fitzwater, how dare you suggest that!"
"I know what you were thinking!"
"I am not talking to you now."
"You just did."
"Shut up."
"Goodnight Nessa."
"Goodnight Merry."
I smiled before rolling over to sleep. As I closed my eyes, I was suprised to realise that the image that came into my head was of Luke and his dark brown eyes.
